Your Guide to Styling an Entryway to Impress
Along with the exterior façade, your entryway plays a key role in first impressions - like an introduction to your home. It's also often the first spot to greet you when you and your guests arrive, so creating a warm and inviting space is a must. This small but important area should receive as much love and attention as the other incredibly styled spaces in your home. To help you achieve this, we're exploring just how to style an entryway that's sure to impress.

1. Determine the Function of Your Entryway
First things first, determine the function of your entryway. Start by assessing the size of the space. Can you fit furniture that doubles as storage for shoes and school backpacks? Or do you need to prioritise a trinket bowl for often misplaced keys? Maybe its only function is to be aesthetically pleasing and that’s a perfect option, too! Understanding how you want to use your entryway will help you to establish what you need and if it’ll fit. Meaning you can easily determine the priorities of the space and be realistic about what to include.

2. Find the Focal Point of the Entryway
The next step is to establish a focal point within the entryway. A focal point is an element of interest, it draws the eyes in to create balance. We also love that you have free reign with focal points, well, mostly. Sometimes the focal point may be decided for you, such as a structural element, or it could be décor pieces you love, like the Zanthia Large Wall Mirror. Your focal point also won’t necessarily be the biggest object in the room, the idea is to create a flow that will tie your space together.

3. Choosing Entryway Décor and Furniture That Complements the Space
This step might just be our favourite. It’s time to begin adding furniture and décor that both serves a purpose and complements your entryway. Start with your established focal point, for example, a beautifully curved staircase. Opt for furniture items that fit in the space and flow, like the Felix Bench Seat or the Dune Console Table. The minimalist curves of the pieces will soften the entryway while seamlessly carrying your eyes around the room. You'll achieve that warm, inviting feeling in no time.

Art
Art is also the perfect way to add a little something extra to your entryway, especially if you’re limited on space. Our only advice is to measure the area to avoid overcrowding the entryway.

4. Don’t Forget About Your Exterior
Interiors are definitely the focus here, but the exterior of your entryway plays an important role, too. If you have the space, add a few pieces of furniture and décor to the area. Plants in big pots, comfortable chairs, and warm lighting will make all the difference. If you have a mainly neutral façade, it can also be a really good opportunity to add a pop of colour or texture.

5. Adding the Finishing Details to Your Entryway
Now that you’ve got your focal point, furniture, décor, and exterior ready, it’s time to bring in the finishing touches. As many entryways are quite limited in space, the details matter. You don’t want to over-clutter the space but there are always a few pieces that can complete the look.

Wall Lights

Vases are also great for adding a bit of texture, height, and colour without overcrowding the area.
