Situated on a quarter-acre block in the idyllic Byron Bay sits The Vela Properties, designed and delivered by The Designory. Inspired by their coastline location, the three luxury residences have been crafted to be completely unique, yet flow seamlessly with each other and their natural surroundings. The homes, Samudra (sea), Sikata (sand) and Lavana (sea salt), make the ideal spot for an unforgettable getaway or location shoot. We’re lucky enough to take a peek inside Samudra House, a mediterranean influenced home with contemporary finishes that is sure to amaze.

Samudra House has been perfectly positioned on the corner of the block, immersed into nature. The home's placement enables natural lighting to stream through large, bespoke timber windows, which also look out over a shady gumtree. Upon entering, you’ll be greeted by layers of rendered white, warm textures, and natural materials. The Designory has mastered a unique blend between curated design elements and the rawness of the Australian coastal palette. Hosting four bedrooms, multiple living areas, lush outdoor spaces and a heated pool, Samudra is the definition of a dream getaway.

Company director and lead designer, Melissa Bonney, shares what is so unique about Samudra:
“There are so many unique moments within Samudra house that make it special. Of the three homes, Samudra is the only one that sits on the corner of the divided block. This section of the land is encircled by trees and reaps access to breathtaking afternoon sunsets. Designed with soft curves throughout, the joinery, island benches, shower dividers, partition walls and even the skylights pay tribute to the gentle waves of Byron’s oceans."

"The pool has been custom designed to fit within a surround of palm trees, its curved concrete structure celebrated with a simple rendered and painted finish that was inspired by the cliffside pools of Greece.
Celebrating the natural environment of Byron Bay, timber detailing has been fitted to all windows and doors - creating and drawing in framed views of lush greenery and surrounding nature. With a focus on texture, Samudra is designed for the senses. Warm and grounding, you’ll find handmade finishes, brushed metals, and natural light filling each room and you’ll leave brim-full with earth-filled serenity.”
