Step Inside Lumière Lakes, a Coastal Lakeside Retreat

Welcome to Lumière Lakes, the breathtaking waterfront retreat located in Lake Conjola. The home was recently renovated by Zoe and Dane Cartwright from Projection Build, who you might recognise from the stunning Lumière House. Lumière Lakes takes inspiration from the sophisticated design and light-filled spaces of its sister property but adds elements of serenity, completely unique to the area. Come with us as we take a peek into the retreat that will have you dreaming of your next getaway.

Lumière Lakes is the dream holiday spot! What was the inspiration behind the design?

Lumière lakes is inspired by its location along the NSW coastline. The renovated lakeside retreat is a relaxed, calming space, with inviting coastal interiors that perfectly complement the modern and sophisticated design elements. The home was altered to maximise the layout and optimise privacy from all angles of the block. Lumière Lakes takes references from favourite Australian holiday spots, like Raes on Wategos in Byron Bay, and The Calile Hotel in Brisbane. The renovations also pay homage to the original property through small details such as window placement, which allow gorgeous, natural light to flood the open spaces.

Can you tell us about your goal for building Lumière Lakes?

To create the ideal coastal getaway. A place for friends and family to gather and enjoy such a beautiful waterfront location. The goal was for the Lumière Lakes to be a luxury, resort-style holiday home that could be easily rented. Somewhere low-maintenance but with warm, calming effects - it’s the dream home away from home.

“…each home inclusion has been chosen to make that holiday living effortless and enjoyable, providing the opportunity for guests or our own family to entertain friends and celebrate those important moments and memories in life.”

How did you apply your previous home build experience to this project?

Being in the building industry, we’re fortunate to have put some miles under our belt when it comes to building and renovations! It was important to celebrate and restore the original elements of the existing dwelling, accomplished by reinventing key features using modern materials. We appreciated the importance of light-filled, calming, warm, resort-style living, creating a connection flow between the open-plan kitchen, living, dining, and alfresco. We wanted to ensure the space could comfortably fit larger groups without the feeling of being too cramped. As the property is situated on a long block, we created a multitude of spaces to entertain guests with ease, including two additional decks stepping down the block towards the water’s edge, with incredible additions such as an outdoor kitchen, lounges, and a fire pit.

How would you describe the style of the home?

Lumière Lakes is something unique to Lake Conjola. It perfectly blends coastal elements, Moroccan influences, and modern functionality. The neutral palette was strategically chosen to evoke that calm, inviting feeling of effortless bliss.
