Congratulations on creating such a gorgeous home. How did this project begin?
This project began out of a love for design and a desire for my husband and I to create a luxurious, resort style home. We wanted to feel as though we were on holiday every day. As most projects begin, we spent many hours gathering inspiration of homes and hotels we loved via Instagram and Pinterest.

How would you describe the style of the home? How did you decide upon this style?
The style of the home is definitely a modern take on Mediterranean villa; blending Spanish and Italian architecture to create simple and elegant spaces. The home exudes a sense of contemporary style whilst paying homage to some of the typical features found in Mediterranean style homes such as a white/neutral/terracotta palette, stone details, arches, handmade tiles, and metal work.

What were some of your must-haves when building Casa Blanca?
When building the home, we wanted to ensure that there was an abundance of light-filled purposeful spaces whilst still maintaining a seamless flow from the inside to the outside to allow for indoor/outdoor living. It was important that the home considered aesthetics consistent with the style and vision whilst still being functional. During the design process there was an emphasis on creating different zones, whilst still maintaining open plan living, with the intention that a young family could grow with the home and that it would then be comfortable enough for teenagers and young adults to enjoy at all the different phases of their life.
There was a focus on softness to create a sense of relaxation and this was achieved through the inclusion of arches, curved walls and a neutral colour palette. Every room was meticulously designed to maximise functionality whilst maintaining timeless and quintessential features of a Mediterranean style home such as handmade tiles, stone details, texture, metal work, warm woods and pops of colour in the furnishings.

What is your favourite room of the home?
There is so much I love about this home. My husband and I come home all the time and just feel so grateful we have had the opportunity to build something like this. There has been a lot of hard work and sacrifices behind the scenes to get to this point, however it’s all been worth it. Building something like this is a future investment as well as a piece of paradise we get to live in now.
