Design Homes & Help to Create Safe Ones | Make a Change This Homelessness Week

As an interior designer or renovator, you’ll understand how a home is more than just four walls. It’s a place of safety, identity, and belonging, and each design transforms the way we live and feel. Here at Style Sourcebook, our platform is dedicated to the power of home design, where our community shapes homes that are thoughtful and comforting. creating spaces where people feel safe, supported, and themselves. For thousands of women across Australia, the idea of home is not just about styling, it’s about survival.

 In the past few years, women have accounted for the 82% increase in people experiencing homelessness.

Design has always had the power to transform spaces. Now, it has the power to transform futures. For 2025 Homelessness Week, we’re partnering with Women’s Community Shelters,  an organisation working tirelessly to provide safe accommodation and support to women and children escaping homelessness caused by domestic and family violence, to extend the impact of design beyond the walls of our mood boards, and into the lives of women and children who need it most. We believe in the power of home, and we invite you to help extend that power to support women and children in crisis, enabling them to find safety and care.

Whether you're designing forever homes or first homes, you understand the importance of a safe and supportive environment. Contributing to Women’s Community Shelters is a chance to offer that same stability to those who currently don’t have it, to help women and children in crisis find safety and support.

We’re inviting our community to channel their creativity and care in a new direction; the same people who thoughtfully design homes each day now have the power to give one. Design has always been about more than aesthetics. It’s about creating belonging. So, let’s use our collective voice and creativity to design something even more powerful. We believe that everyone deserves a safe and secure place to call home. Let’s move beyond mood boards and come together for something bigger.

This Homelessness Week, Monday 4th August to Sunday 10th August 2025, you can join our ‘Donate 5, Tag 5’ campaign to make a change.  $150 provides a woman's safety for a night, $5 is your part. If our Style Sourcebook community donates $5 each, together we could help over 2,000 women. Join our campaign and help to create a safe home.
