Discover Bathroom Tiles for Your Next Design Project with Amber

Style Sourcebook Profile: Amber
When it comes to bathroom projects, a key element is choosing the style of your space. This can be a challenge as there’s various factors to consider in making these smaller rooms feel cohesive. Such as, will each product fit with the theme? And are these products practical for the layout of your area, and not just for aesthetics? One of the most important things (and often the first thing you’ll decide on) is what tiles you are going to use in the bathroom. After all, it’s easier to decide on the other fixtures and fittings when you know what the largest component of your bathroom will look like.
To help with this task, we’re sitting down with Amber to explore a few popular bathroom styles and the tiles you need to achieve them. Let’s dive in.
Classic Coastal Style Bathrooms
We’re sure you’re familiar with the classic coastal style. A soft palette of neutrals, greens, and blues, natural materials, striking whites, and open, breezy spaces - need we say more? But just how do you achieve this ever-so-popular style within your bathroom?
It all comes down to a mix of materials and colours. We recommend having a base tile for a majority of the walls and floors in a neutral tone, such as beige or off-white. Choosing something like this with a textured finish, such as a travertine-look tile, will also add further depth to the space. This neutral base will complement the room and allow you to add a feature tile that further links your bathroom to the sea. Think soft greens and deep blues for that extra interest.
“In addition to our extensive range of tiles and pavers, Amber also offers a stunning selection of bathroomware. From luxurious freestanding baths to sleek, contemporary tapware, our range of bathroom products are designed to help you create the perfect bathroom oasis. Plus, our customers benefit from being able to purchase bathroom fixtures and tiles together, which ensures they create beautiful pairings for the perfect bathroom outcome.”

Modern Minimalist Style Bathrooms
Modern minimalist bathrooms are such a popular choice, and it's easy to see why. They evoke comfort and tranquility, two things you definitely want as the result of your bathroom project. To achieve this, modern minimalist bathrooms are quite understated, but in no way does this translate to boring. The palette is organic and luxurious, with a strong focus on texture. This is so easily achieved with tiles as well, especially when you opt for something a little larger and elegant in an earthy tone. Our favourite is the porcelain stone-look tile with veining.
Mid-Century Modern Style Bathrooms
We love the influence the mid-century modern style is currently having on the interior design industry. This style is all about creating interest through clean lines, bold accents, and nature-inspired details. Mid-century modern interior design will also often channel influences from the iconic Palm Springs style as the two both reflect relaxed, rich, and captivating elements. So, how are you achieving this style within your bathroom? There’s a few different ways.
Firstly, you could opt for a tile that is strikingly bold and really becomes the feature point of the space. Keep the tone neutral, so you don’t risk overwhelming your bathroom, but instead try a smaller pattern, such as mosaic or kitkat. This will create striking interest in your bathroom.
Alternatively, opt for a desert-toned tile in a matte finish and use it to complement other fittings and fixtures in your bathroom. We love rich timber vanities and marble benchtops; both will really pop against your tiles.
There’s so many other incredible styles that you can achieve through tiles within your bathroom and, of course, your entire home. Plus, Amber allows for a seamless selection process with an incredible range of curated bathroom packages. Each package is designed with leading tiles, tapware, vanities, showers, toilets, bathtubs, and more to create a stylish space you’ll love.
